Jason found a copy of a film he produced in 2014 on the shelves of his local Walmart. Congrats to the whole team that made this film. Maverick sound mixer Jason Mcroberts was chosen to run the location sound department for a feature film shooting in Southwest Virginia this month. Although we can't say much at the moment Jason was pretty excited about the talent involved with this one both on and off screen.
Steven and Jason were tapped to run the sound department for a feature film shooting in Dallas in July. We can't say much else about it but we do have some photos with one of the cast members. You may recognize this former soundie from such films as Top Gun, Highlander, and Total Recall.
A city of dreams or a city of nightmares. This time Los Angeles hosted a vision a bit darker than most. Nightmare Nanny, a feature film backed by The Asylum, and directed by Jared Cohn delves into the darker side of domestic situations. We were delighted to head back out to the west coast as the sound department for yet another feature film with Dylan Vox. We can't say much about the content of the film yet but as soon as we hear more we'll post it. Until then we will leave you with a few BTS photos.

Chuck Hatcher and David Rennke called the team out in March to do a proof of concept short film named "Rotten Riders". We are pleased to learn that the film is set to premiere in the Rack Focus Film Festival.

Dylan Vox called the team back out to LA for another feature in April. This time it was for a star studded teen comedy written and directed by Benny Fine of Fine Brothers Entertainment.

Jason & Steve have been in LA working on yet another feature film! Last night they got to sneak away from set long enough to enjoy the festivities of the Hollywood premiere of Dead 7! They did the sound recording for this film back in September in the historic town of Butte, Montana. Working with such a crazy group of people on a film that is something they'd love to watch made this one of their favorite projects yet. Now who votes they need a sequel?!

Dead 7 is set to release on the SYFY channel on April 1st, 2016 at 8pm. The team had a great experience doing location sound for this feature. So much so that Jason Mcroberts had this to say about the project:

The film is a genre bending combination of western, horror, and zombies. The team said it reminds them of films such as Tucker and Dale vs Evil and The Magnificent Seven. They hope that this cross genre theme plus the addition of 90's boy band members will be a hit and pave the way for future films of its type.

The team got called out to do a feature film named "This Side of the Dirt" based off of a play written by Tito Beveridge. Kyle Graham who is heading their sound department needed two boom operators and Jason and Steven leaped at the chance to work on the team.
The film will most likely do a film festival circuit before heading out to distribution next year.
Jose Zambrano Cassella recently commented about the progress of post production for Dead Story. He said that the film is complete except for a final coloring pass. Once that's finished this horror film will go out for distribution. We are hoping it will have a theatrical release just in time to scare everyone for Halloween.
The team helped produce this one as well as ran the production audio department.
Can you say super excited three times fast while skipping rope? If so message us...we would like to see it.

Working on feature films is a blast. We love the artistry, the camaraderie, and the excitement that comes with it. So when one gets released we tend to buy them and watch them. Night of the Wild was no different. However, we were surprised to see a behind the scenes video that had several shots of Steven Mcroberts hard at work as the "soundie".
Steve was so amused by this that he did a BTS commentary for the whole film while we watched it last week. We learned that a certain truck scene involving Tristan Mays was plagued by angry wasps. In the scene itself you can clearly see them flying around in an irritated fashion behind the two actresses. Between takes he said they literally ran from the truck in true horror film style.
The team has done three more films (Dead 7, #FollowFriday, and Ghost House) with the same crew and we look forward to all of their releases.

Jason Mcroberts headed out to Malibu to shoot a behind the scenes video of Melinda Reddehase during Raven House Studio's latest photo shoot. The stunning model Cara Leahy participated.
Jason Mcroberts said, "Soundies touching cameras...who would have thought."
The photos and video are still going through the editing process but the team and Melinda are excited to put everything together and put it out there. For sure the BTS video will be launched here and on Melinda's new venture Raven House Studio which has a link above.
The team just got back in from LA and already they are at it again. This time on a short film written, directed, and produced by Madison Laird. Kyle Simpson is the Director of Photography and Olivia Cauthen rounds out the team as the 1AD.
Synopsis: Heather has been interested in her upstairs neighbor for some time before fate decides to intervene causing them to cross paths. Boy meets girl and hilarity ensue.
The fifth and final chapter of Metronome is out!
Steven Mcroberts was called out in November 2015 to do a thriller named #FollowFriday. The film was set in the town of Roanoke Virginia which is less than an hour away from Steven and Jason's home town of Lynchburg.

Projects tend to come in waves. January 2016 is no different in this regard. The call came in to do a reality pilot in Los Angeles and the Omega Zone team answered.
The show is set in some of the most iconic places in Hollywood and Los Angeles such as Sunset Blvd, Studio City, and the Beverly Hills area.
We are super excited to be a part of filming such an exciting project deep in the heart of the movie capitol of the world.

Last night Steve attended the Annual Lone Star Mixer Mixer near downtown Dallas. Lots of cool vendors (yay! Geeky gear shopping time), free craft beer, excellent food and swag bags + a brewery full of sound mixer from Texas, Atlanta and beyond.
Vandelay Sound Exports are hosted the event at a local brewery, Texas Ale Project, and Gotham Sound sponsored it. Reps from Orca, Zaxcom, Lectrosonics and Sound Devices were in attendance, showing everyone the ins and outs of their products. It was a great evening with fellow sound pros!
Well the press has gotten word about production for a Ft. Worth based TV Series named "Bail Out". We couldn't be more happy to see the project get more attention and look forward to principal photography this weekend.
